The Meadow River Rail Trail is an approximately 24-mile project in Fayette and Greenbrier Counties in West Virginia. GEG has managed over $5M in grant funding on behalf of the Fayette and Greenbrier County Commissions. GEG was able to secure an approximately $2.3M grant from the Abandoned Mine Lands Pilot Program for the project under contract with the Greenbrier County Commission.
GEG has led architect/engineer procurement, design engineering oversight, construction bidding, construction oversight, and trail management.
The Meadow River Rail Trail is being completed in phases with eventual connection to the Gauley River National Recreation Area. This project is a tremendous economic driver for southern West Virginia.
